Prayers
This is a prayer that arose from a "Youth in St Mary's" meeting. If you are able to use it in whole or in part at Section meetings, please do so. It does reflect the steady growth which has taken place, due to the concerted team efforts of everyone involved. I take the opportunity to thank you all for the work you continue to do for AA and BB - or both! Ted
GIVING THANKS FOR PROGRESS .
A suitable response to each sentence is
..Lord, We give you thanks.
We Give Thanks for
The inspired leadership of William Smith and his colleagues, who founded the BB so long ago, and showed us how to lead young people to Christ
The Christian examples of thousands of BB Officers, both men and women, who for more than a century, have passed that example down to us
.
For the challenge given to us to revive the AA and BB here in Radcliffe, and for the way the challenge has been taken up
..
For the warm support and affection for the BB which has been shown by so many people in Radcliffe, as we have worked to rebuild this work.
For the many people who are giving their time voluntarily to help the work in so many practical ways, at present numbering 20, and for their attendance at training courses to fit themselves for this work
.
For the many children and young people who have already joined or rejoined AA and BB, at present numbering over 30
For the voluntary work which has been given to repair and refurbish the BB Hall and all the equipment
.
For the splendid Resource Manuals which were produced by BB Headquarters, and which arrived at exactly the right time to meet our needs
..
For the sheer privilege of leading young people to Christ, by both teaching and personal example, and by caring for them
For the fun and excitement which prevails at every AA and BB meeting, showing the members what joy it is to be among Christian people
O Lord God, we ask in Jesus Name, that this work prospers and grows to your Honour and Glory.
